Default Oem stereo upgrade that plays MP3?

Is there a known oem jeep/chrysler stereo upgrade for my 00 cherokee that fits in the factory location and looks factory that also plays mp3?

Like a grand cherokee or something?

I don't think so... Most of the later Chrysler head units (stereos) were bigger than the ones in the Cherokee.

Do you just not like the look of an aftermarket one, or what?
They aren't very expensive or hard to wire.

I would go aftermarket and get one that has a usb jack on it and use a thumb drive in it.

I had a 98 Cherokee with an older model pioneer double din head unit in it. Took up the entire space of the factory head unit. It was dated in 02 so I doubt you can get one but maybe I can give you the numbers and you can see if pioneer updated it?

No mp3 though that's why I changed it for a later model pioneer single din and bought the install kit so I wouldn't have any gaps in the factory slot

You can do an I-simple piece through fm modulation. It's similar to fm transmitters without the static.
I would suggest either the is77 or the wireless route of isfm21 or isfm22

There is a guy on eBay that sells the stock radios that he modded with an MP3 input on the front. I was looking for a stock radio the other day and cams across them they weren't too bad as far as cost.

I have an aftermarket Pioneers that came in my XJ and all I want is it out and stock one in. Its too much of a hassle to use while on the trails to even find another station or adjust the vol.
