Every one thanks.
lowrange2 thanks for your special help, relay is ordered will swap it when it shows up in my mail box.
My steering box is leaking, we have talked about it before. I replaced the box support bracket thingy and it helped I think it just wore out the old tired box. I am moving back and forth from buy the rebuild kit and just rebuilding it or buying a new one.
SO lots of BS the real question. I read that an S-10 one will just bolt in. Has anyone sure? S-10 parts are more easy to come by then XJ parts and the steering box is cheaper too.
o.s. lowrange I had a little medical isue but all back now and I miss getting my hands dirty

I've always used OEM steering gear boxes.
Old_Man on NAXJA rebuilds and sells boxes also.
You can go with a Durango gear box... I've heard that's a nice upgrade.
I am trying to find old man on naxja but can not track him down orieoly (sp) has them no shipping 135 in store pick up.
My real question is there is just a little drip around the pitman attach at the bottom of the steering box. Is this somethign I shold be overly worried about?
I want to pull all the cooling system and clean it all out and replace a few parts.
owning a jeep under the direction says work on the weekend

I have an O'Reilly box on on of my Jeeps. I haven't had any issue out of it.
I wouldn't worry about a little drip as long as it's not losing fluid too fast.
Usually, when the seal starts leaking that means that the sector shaft bearings are worn out allowing it to move around. The movement in the sector shaft causes the seal to leak.

Is the sector shaft bearings part of the gearbox or is it part of the connection of the gear box to the steering?
I am just figuring it all out.
someone suggested to a 235/75/15 tire any opinions?

O'Reilly has 3 different T-stats I can not tell the difference between.
And yes before you say something smart.
Yes there are many different T-stats, there only 3 all the other choice is Temp. I know what Temp I want, it is the difference in cost I do not understand.

I was on Orely and the different in T-stats was failed open , 7$ and 4$ there were several different temperature I am wondering if a 7$ T-Stat is worth more than a 4$ one.
I looked on part train. I do not know which water pump to buy, are they all about the same? is there a brand to avoid? AC Delco , A1cardon, Bosch, Crown water, DNJ,
I think I want to replace; water pump, t-stat, gasket for both, is that a complete list? What do you think about replacing the T-stat housing?

No one places has every brand you mentions.
Is the brand of T-stat as important.
I will stick with A1 Cardone water pump the gasket you recommend are at pep boys. Other brand of T-stat are easy to find that one brand is being a sticky wicket
and
On a different question. Do you think it is a mistake living in a really hot wet place that the 160 T stat is bad?
