Has anyone rebuilt the steering gear box. I am talking about the seal kit thingy for the part of the gear box where the pitman arm connects. I saw a post or a build thread about it. I think mine is leaking a little and if I have to take it off and put it back on any way. I would rather rebuild mine.
Also, my passenger window will not go down. Is it pretty common for the motor to go out? also my passenger mirror only moves in 2 directions not 4

I've never rebuilt a steering gear box but I've spoke to a few folks that say it's not very difficult. I hear it's a pain to get all the little ***** back where they go.
If you don't want to fool with it you can contact "Old_man" on NAXJA. He sells rebuilt boxes at a pretty dang good price.
(He might be on here too. Not sure.)
So, I keep reading about window issues. Mine does not seem like it is the lock out button on the drivers side. I am not sure how to check and see if ti is the motor with out taking the panel off and just putting 12 volts to the motor in the window. none of the switches work for the passenger side window there is no motor sounds or anything.
I do not mind buying parts just don't want to buy wrong part.

I am having the same issue in my 2000 sport. All other windows work fine except passenger front door. I am subscribing to see if anyone has the solution.

It's usually NOT the switch, but instead, the wires.
Those wires running from the Master Switch to every other door, yeah, they tend to break after so many years be being bent back and forth as the door opens and closes.
Check the wiring. You might be absolutely surprised to find out that it's that simple.
If it's not that, buy your switches or module or whatever. But definitely start by checking the wiring.

Have not had time to get after the electrical problem. I had an over heat scare. The over pressure hose that comes from the radiator cap came off. I did not notice it until the temp started to climb.
I do not have watery oil, so I think I dodged the head warping bullet.
I know now the mix in the radiator is good. I need to flush the radiator and want to clean out the reservoir. My question is how do you pull the reservoir?

OEM Hatch supports are plenty strong when they aren't worn out. Get some new ones and they'll last a LONG time.
I need some help
again
so
My turn signals don't flash. I am guessing I need the new thingy, relay i think. I have an inability to remember words.
Which relay or where is it that I can pull and replace for the turn signals.

Remove the kick panel below the steering wheel. It's directly below the headlight switch, facing towards the front of the vehicle. Should be a 1", gray, box-style relay.
Replace with Stant EP27 or equivalent.

Every one thanks.
lowrange2 thanks for your special help, relay is ordered will swap it when it shows up in my mail box.
My steering box is leaking, we have talked about it before. I replaced the box support bracket thingy and it helped I think it just wore out the old tired box. I am moving back and forth from buy the rebuild kit and just rebuilding it or buying a new one.
SO lots of BS the real question. I read that an S-10 one will just bolt in. Has anyone sure? S-10 parts are more easy to come by then XJ parts and the steering box is cheaper too.
o.s. lowrange I had a little medical isue but all back now and I miss getting my hands dirty
