New XJ owner
I just bought a 2000 XJ sport 215000 miles on it.
I changed all the fluids I could think of (both Diffs tranny T-case.)
It has a budget lift of coil spacer in front and blocks in back. I ordered an OME 2" lift shocks and springs.
Once the lift is in. I need tires for it. I am not sure what tire I want it has 30x9.5x15 on it now I like the way they look but 30's are hard to find I am thinking about going back down to the 235's it comes with. just not sure.
It is going to be a DD.
My real question is. Is there a good write up on the installation of springs. The front coils have a spacer now. When I get to the front springs and I remove the spacer, what goes back in on top of the spring? Is it likely, I will need another part a washer or a something that goes between the spring and the mounting point?
I bought the lift kit form 4x4 group buy.
I have the NP242 T-Case. Does the drop kit fit that one?
I know I wrote a lot. WIll try to post pics soon.
p.s. I was hoping to get a RHD but this one is not and I ma happy with it, bad suspension and bald tires and all.

Basically:
Support the Jeep by the body so that the front axle hangs.
Remove the wheels
Take the lower shock mounts loose
You may have to remove the brake lines (Or just unbolt the calipers) if they aren't long enough
Remove the coil spring retaining clips
Push the axle down and you should be able to wiggle the spring out.
Put the new spring in it's place and do the other side.
You're going to need the stock coil spring isolator. That is what will replace the spacers that you have installed now.
These will do:

I bought the OME 2" lift kit form 4x4groupbuy.com
I am excited about the kit. I know there is a guy form that site who is on this site anyone know how to get a hold of him?
I have some questions, about what else I might need to get. I know about the coil spring isolators, but do I need to buy new bolts and nuts does it come with them? The new spring has bushings but does it come with the extra for the jeep mounted side? I need a list of little things I need to have that do not come with the kit.
Any help is greatly appreciated......

I have a weird wobble around 45 to 50 MPG. I have the same tires all around but all 4 are very different in tread depth. My shocks are shot. I need to get a Texas inspection done. Is it ok to replace tires before replacing suspension? Should I do suspension first, and an alignment and then go get tires?
Thanks
Thanks

Get the tires first.
Then replace any worn out suspension pieces.
THEN get an alignment.
(Don't do any more driving than you have to before the alignment.)

Fixed you thread.
If you are buying a lift you will not be happy with the 235's. They look funky on a lift. I had 30's on mine most common though is 31's. You will like the look and stance so much better with bigger tires on the lift.

Thank you Stryker thank you low range.
I am cost conscious, 235's are a lot cheaper then 30's also easier to find.
I am only going to keep the 2" I have and kind of need tires before my lift kit is going to show up. But I am open to metric tire sizes and 31's are hella expensive

Search craigslist bud. You can always find people building bigger and ditching old tires. Heck i just sold my old 30's for 265 bucks.
I bet you can get a new set of AT for 600 if you shop around.
Just hate for you too spend the money then want to go a lil bigger. Do you ever plan on taking it offroad even on mild trails?
