I don't see any reason why it would be. You'll likely have to use their filter with that kit. Since mine retains the stock airbox you can use whatever brand filter you want

I don't want to have to cut the filter everytime, would it be efficient to get a 2"to3" PVC elbow( only use the 2" to go into the box) because I'm not sure if it would seal good or how far I would have to go in with the 3" pipe ( check out the picture)

If you don't cut the hole too high like I did on mine, you won't need to trim the filter

But if I cut it where it is in that picture I don't think it will fit due to the curve of the air box, so I'm asking is it bad if I do a 2" to 3" elbow into the air box? It doesn't have anough flat surface to fit 3" on mine, unless I'm retarded haha

you could, and it's been done before (on the left hand side). However i see a few issues with this method:

1) you have to remove the cowl every time you want to change/clean the air filter.
2) it will be a LOT louder in the cab since the inlet for the a/c system is also in the cowl
3) There is a high possibility of water being able to soak the filter and render it useless, or even allow water into the engine.
4) You need to keep the filter away from the "open" grating in the cowl cover to prevent the filter from getting wet when it rains/snows/ etc.

Using the stock airbox when possible allows easy changes to the filter element, as well as providing a safety net in case water actually does make it out of the cowl and into the intake tube.
Anyone try this with removing the airbox and putting a cone filter in the cowl?? Really want to take it out just dont want water gettin into my engine! I f i did it this way I would run it it the passenger side, kinda have to i think i have that dumb(usless) black box(cruse controle) right in the way on your location.

I've done it for another guy, so I know 3" fits. Its tight but it does. A 2" neck down will hurt your performance.

It's been done, although I don't recommend it. Makes the filter hard to change/clean, and makes it susceptible to getting soaked in water...defeating the purpose of this mod imo.

I cut so its out of the way of the filter....Yeah you're going to have to put the pipe where the airbox curve stops short....but thats nothing that a good glob of silicone can't fix.
