Because the passenger side is covered from rain, etc.... The drivers side is not. So if water would go over the hood it wont come directly down on the intake due to it being covered.

That's gonna be where I set mine up since it looks neater and it uses less material. Only thing I'm gonna do different is use the spectre piece to mount to the cowl and the box and their flex tubing instead of the pcv piping.

Just finished putting mine in, thanks Dukie! The only thing I did differently was wrap my PVC in reflective heat tape instead of spray painting it.

it's a stock elbow that usually runs from the airbox to the throttle body. I cut the sharp bend off and stuck it in the cowl. Everything is the perfect side so it stays in place and seals without any assistance

Did you ever seal up the drain holes in the box?

yea I did. Crossing the river pushed some water up into the box. A very small amount, but enough reason for me to seal it.

I know......but leaves room for something else to go in that spot. I just bought the Jeep like 6 months ago and I am starting to do mods to it.

This looks simple enough that I think I can pull it off.
Thanks again for the idea, I know I wouldn't have come up with it on my own.

yup it works great. I leave it on the truck 24/7 now as a TRUE cold air intake as well.
