Default moving radio to center console??

Tried searching, turned up nothing. Thinking I'll use a DD install kit and make a mount to put it in the center console. Then make the console water tight

In my fire dept, we had these Cherokees and ems cars, they had the scanner and fd radio mounted where the console/armrest is, Couldn't think of a worst place to put them, just about every time you got into the jeep, your elbow would hit the radios, leave it where it's supposed to be

Plan is to set it deep enough to close the arm rest back down over it. I'm just looking for a more secure place so when I can park the jeep while I going kayaking

Look up the "show me your interior mods". There is someone that has it below the ashtray. It would hidden there and right in front of the shifter.

If it's worth hiding, it's probably worth stealing, might want to just leave well enough alone.

I dont see the radio fitting in the console and it latching. Trans tunnel comes up to high under the console.
