Moter mounts ...again
I did the search and it seems the BD mounts are the main choice but have installation issues . Is there nothing in between the absolute garbage style OEM and the high dollar BD ? The closest in price I have found are Stinky fab at $90 or the various poly .
Thanks
Thanks

I have the rubber brown dog mounts. They are very nice mounts, but I probably should have just purchased replacement oem mounts for my DD. There was a lot of vibration for the first couple months. Almost a year later now, they are finally broken in.

I've got BD rubber as well for about a year. Didn't notice any vibrations. Make sure you tighten to how BD tells you, with washers than can turn easily. Those bolts aren't meant to be cranked down tight.
For a DD though cheap Anchor mounts is what I always used prior to BD. IRO also makes a motor mount but I forget the price.

I installed a set of the BD rubber mounts and after 3 weeks I removed them and installed an OEM set did not care for the vibs I had in mirrors and elsewhere.
Yes they were installed properly as per instructions then loosened and retightened again. Nice mounts for sure but just not for me.

I bought a set of the Anchor OEM . There is so much slop between the rubber and the steel wrap that it looks like the motor can flop over 1/2'' . I was hoping there was something between BD and these . Oh well...

Omix-ADA seems to be a much better design. Here are comparison pictures.

The rubber is vulcanized to the bottom of the mount the hoop on top is only there to keep the rubber from stretching too far and when it does break it will hold it down until you replace it.

I have BD rubbers on my XJ and poly on my TJ. You get a bit more vibration, but it hasn't bothered me in the slightest.

Just installed the BD rubber mounts on my Jeep about 4 months ago.
At first I was worried about how much more they vibrated over the OEM mounts, only 4 months later and I can already tell they are breaking in some, and the vibration gets less every day. Or, I am just getting used to it.
I really like how rigid it makes the jeep feel on acceleration.
I also replaced the Trans mount at the same time with OEM rubber trans mount.
4 months later, I could not be happier with the choice.
As for installation issues.... I did not have any trouble installing them at all. Same procedure as the OEMs.
