96 XJ front leaf mounts rusted...
So I bought this two door 96 with the intentions of converting to a stroker or LS/LQ swap.
How I missed this I have no idea, checked everything but this area I guess. The rest or the Jeep has no rust.
Carpet is nasty and I plan to replace it so I was thinking while I had it out and while replacing the saggy old leafs, cut the old brackets and the bad area around the floor. I have a very good welder from where I work, have him come out to the house, cut some plate for a new small floor area and use these synergy leaf mounts to take care of the problem.
What do you think?

Looks good. Had a '96 4dr. Ran like a top, structurally was a disaster. Was waiting for the front leaf spring mount to bust through the floor. Saw a picture of one where it did happen. Not pretty. '96 had a small section of uni-body rusting out too. I was always toying with the idea of trying to save her. Buy a welder, try to learn how to weld, and was looking at those same mounts to handle part of the work. Ended up throwing it on Craigslist. Couple young guys bought it. Considering how the rest of the Jeep looks in the picture you would think that would not be necessary. IMO worth the effort. Then again I have soft spot for the '96's.

Looks great, and your friend does great welds. Nice solution!
I've owned four XJs, and my current '96 is my favorite so far. Two of those I bought brand new ('92 and a '99, had a 2000 that was only 10 years old when I bought it, and my current was nearly 20 years old when I bought it with rusted floors but still my favorite! I'm starting to think I've got a soft spot for '96s too!
