Default Use a TJ/YJ spare tire mount on an XJ

I have an extra YJ rear tire mount laying around and I got to thinking; Could I just bolt the tire carrier onto the hatch of my XJ and mount my tire? Has this ever been done? Would the rear hatch have the integrity to hold a wheel and tire (33 12.50 in my case). I'd like to see if anyone has done this or something similar.

you would have to reinforce behind where you mount it since the hatch is so thin as far as metal thickness. and i doubt the hatch struts could hold the weight of a wheel and tire when open also.
