Hi All -
I'm new to the forum and new to jeep modifications in general. I've just started my jeep build and will crate a thread for the jeep soon (I'm still gathering up pictures), but I'm looking for help/advice on how to install a new Smittybilt Bumper I purchased from Serious Offroad this week (they shipped it same day - very pleased with Serious Offroad and they had the best price on the web).
I've gone ahead and removed my factory bumper on my 2001 Jeep Cherokee sport, but now I have both my front tire wheel wells visible from the front of my jeep where the horns are and I've got a vacuum ball thingy (at least that is what I think it is) on my passanger side that was originally screwed onto the back side of the plastic bumper caps on the manufacturer bumper. Is there a 3rd party wheel well that is smaller and won't hang down behind the Smittybilt Bumper? What should I do with the vacuum ball thing (will there be a spot to mount it to the backside of the Smittybilt bumper)?

I would cut the wheel well (assume your talking about the plastic insert) or remove it (if you go with larger tires you will probably have to down the road anyways). As far as the vacuum ball just move it up inside the engine bay-

Thanks for the links and the worm welcome to the forum! I'm excited to start contributing. I'm starting a build thread later today while I watch our Seattle SeaHawks win the Super Bowl!

Haha I hope they do. I think Denver will win but I really hope the Hawks take it.
