Default My first mod? Air intake.

My '89 4L six has been a workhorse since it was new. Everything is OEM. But I must replace the air intake hose ASAP, because the electric fan came loose and tore it up. The local wrecking yard doesn't have one. So I'm thinking now might be a good time to start learning about aftermarket improvements.

What's the usual / simplest aftermarket solution for a newcomer to improve air flow in a Cherokee? Easy to install! I don't have much time.

The usage of this vehicle is around-town commuting and sometimes hauling around a small trailer. It gets out of town rarely, but for the desert this summer I want the cooling system in top shape. Pointers to the more popular customizations / tricks / aftermarket stuff are appreciated, thanks.

you can probably find an intake hose on ebay or here in the for sale section. Upgrade to a bored throttle body and a high flow filter. Spectre and K&N both make oem fit filters, the Spectre is a little cheaper. That alone you will notice a bit more throttle response and slightly quicker acceleration.
