when the roads are snow covered i hit my brakes and the tires lockup on the snow and i slide like normal. but sometimes when i hit the brakes i get this bad grinding sound. almost sounds just like when you drive on a rubble strip on the side of the road. and almost sounds like its more on the drivers side but i cant be sure. what can this be? im running 6.5" springs and 2" spacers with rugged ridge crossover steering. what could this be?

dude mine does the same thing, I gave up trying to figure out what it was
I always wondered if it was a vibration from the calipers, or if it was the brakes locking up and releasing rapidly or something...

DUDE! I think I figured it out!
You have an Aussie locker in your D30 rite? I have a lock rite in mine...
I think it's the locker ratcheting, mine only makes the sound when the passenger side tire locks up , If both tires lock, no sound.
So my thought was, one axle brake locked, the other isn't, would make the locker ratchet rapidly making a grinding/popping sound...
It's just a guess, but that's only thing I could come up with, I've been dwelling on it since yesterday haha..
