I have owned numerous offroad vehicles with only LSD's (front & rear) and have never not been able to keep up with the guys with the full lockers...have even broke a few axle shafts with them, but that was probably do to the 37's! go with it... just my $.02

I wouldn't pass on it because it has a limited slip. but if it ever gave me an issue I would replace it with a full locker, I wouldn't pay to have the limited slip rebuilt, but its better then a open diff IMO.

I would look for one with an open diff, so that you could drop in a lunch box.
I've never cared for SLD, but I use my 4x4s for wheeling and not DD, if I was DDing my 4x4s maybe I would consider a LSD.

you can set up the clutches in an LS to have more grab and less slip. a good portion of the people you here complaining about the LS not performing right when a tire is in the air just dont have the pack set up tight enough in the right combonation.
i do it all the time for customers (at their request), i will be doing it also for my 8.8 when i regear it.
hell, i set up the D35 LS in my last jeep to the point where it was chirping the tires (like a locker) around normal turns.
now, im not saying id pick the LS over a true locker if i had the choice. but, if its what you have it can be made to work fine.

Running mud I guess a LSD could be set up to work ok, in rocks they suck. I tried running LSDs in my Blazer couldn't get anywhere, switched to Detroit lockers, and had no problems I always had traction.
