Default Bilstein 5100's

2 - Bilstein # 24-186810 Front Shocks
2 - Bilstein # 24-186827 Rear Shocks

If I could buy those four shocks, which appear to be for a 0" to 2" lift, from a TJ for $180 should I?
Supposedly on the TJ for 6 months with about 2K on them.
Specs are real close to the Monroe's I run.
Stock suspension at the moment and might do an Up Country lift at some point.
I have read about the JK red shock take off mod but see little about the same for TJ's.

Anybody have any thoughts on this?

I have 5100s in my Cherokee and love the ride. Much better than a lot of my buddies with generic shocks. Mine are for a lifted Jeep though so I can't confirm or deny part numbers. I paid like $80 a shock when I got them I think.

I saw anywhere from $72, Ebay I think, to $90 and more apiece.
I just can't seem to figure out if TJ's swap like the JK red shock take offs that I have read about.

If I understand what your concern is there shouldn't be any mods needed. Fronts have the stud at the top and a bar pin at the bottom. The rears have the bar pin at the top and the std mount at the bottom.

I noticed that too. That was another thing that was confusing me.
Wasn't really the mods that was concerning me was just the fact that the applications list it just for TJ's.
Now modding the JK takeoffs like guys do makes sense that the application list says they won't fit.
But seeing how these look like they are already set up the correct way why isn't an XJ on the list.
These are the ones for an XJ with no lift.

Would just hate to spend $180 and find out I can't use them.

Yea they're the 4600 series.

But I did some research on the 5100 series #'s you posted. I compared their specs to my JK and KYB specs.

The Bilstein # 24-186810 falls in between but closer to the KYB. It would work IF the bar pin is the same width as the ones on a Cherokee XJ. Of course you have your old ones.

The Bilstein # 24-186827 also falls in between but very close to the KYB. I found with the Up Country lift that the KYB had ~1.5" of travel left before it would top out. In other words I found it could be too short under certain circumstances. So the 5100 would work if you didn't lift and if the lower mount diameter on your XJ is 12.7mm because that's what the diameter on the 5100 shock is. Of course there may be bushings that can be removed or added.
