I've done some searches already but couldn't find any definitive answers. I have 2 inches of lift on my XJ. I need longer shocks in the front to allow it to flex out. I want to maintain the factory ride characteristics. Does anyone know what the best shock to use in my situation? Are there any factory shocks from other Jeep models that would work? Which aftermarket shocks would give me the same factory plush ride?

Best shocks you would want would be OME or Bilstein 5100s. JK take-off's probably the cheapest, front's will require sleeve pressed out/ stock bar pin pressed in or lower BPE. The Bilstein yellow's (forget the model #'s) would be good as well if you can afford the OME/5100s or find JK shocks.

Looks like I'll be ordering these from Serious Offroad (Thanks for the reply).

I ordered front shocks from Serious Offroad but I didn't order the ones he provided the link above for.
Instead I ordered the next size longer (for 3.5" to 4" lift) even though I only have 2" of lift:
http://www.seriousoffroadproducts.co...ducts_id=87780
These shocks have a compressed length of 15.1" and an extended length of 25.5". When my front tire is fully tucked up to the fender I measure 15.25" stem to eye. And I should be very close to maximum droop before the shock fully extends. As long as I bump stop correctly I should be OK. I'll post the results after they are installed.
