A few questions for you gurus...
So, I have a 94 xj with the 4.0, aw4, d30 up front, Chrysler 8.25 in back and the NP242j transfer case in the middle.
Right now my suspension is completely stock. Just installed some brand new OE style shocks like a year ago. I know my rear leafs are about shot. I'd like to lift my jeep and replace some of this worn out suspension. How high can I go without having to do an sye and all that crap? I've always heard that the np242 doesn't have much aftermarket support.
So my question is, what are some cheaper options that would allow me to freshen up this suspension and gain a few inches without having to do some major work.
Also, how can I tell if my front diff is LP or HP? Thanks in advance!!!

You do have a HP- LP only came on XJs 2000+
The general consensus is that you can go 3-3.5" before getting an SYE. I have found this to be the case. Depending on the wheeling you plan on doing, your stock shocks should work for awhile.
As far as a cheap option, definitely go with full leaf springs. Check out the link in my signature for some ideas.
