opinions on shocks

Which shocks do you guys like:
Im leaning towards option 1, but have never heard about them till recently
any opinions and suggestions are appreciated.
1. Doetsch Tech 8000 Prerunner Shocks
2. Bilstein 5100 Series Shocks
3. superlift
4. Skyjacker
5. Rancho

... I don't understand how different shocks can affect anything myself. I thought the springs held more weight in the area of comfort riding, but maybe I'm misunderstanding it all.

Shocks make the ride they control the springs keep jeep from bouncin all over the place like a boat. Id go with bilstein hear a lot of good things about them I myself have Rough Country's 2.2 shocks & they work great ride quality on road & off road is nice handling is very predictable. Bilstein's are what I plan on replacing them with see if the $$$ makes the difference.

I've been running a set of Doestec for about 8 years now and they work just as good as new. If I'm riding a really bumpy trail they tend to make a little noise due to heat but still ride fine. My old RC shocks would get hot and then it was like not having any. I put Bilsteins on my Cummins tow pig and honestly can't tell a difference from the old stock ones, but it is a ton truck and rides like one so I doubt any shock would make it ride like a caddy.
