OME Lift & Bilstein Shocks ordered - confirm I got the correct shocks?
Just want to have someone confirm that I got the correct shocks here guys. I've searched and found conflicting advice on the shocks and am now 2nd guessing my decision....
Last night I ordered the following from Morris 4x4
OME930 - Old Man Emu Front Coils
CS034RA - Old Man Emu Medium 2.25" Rear Leaf Spring
26103G - Coil Spring Isolator Set (Front or Rear .75 Lift) Black
This morning I ordered the following from Serious Offroad
Bilstein XJ Four Shock Package, 2-3in. Lift
2 each Bilstein 24-185622 Front Shocks
2 each Bilstein 24-185639 Rear Shocks
I've seen people recommend both the Bilstein 2-3" lift shocks and the Bilstein 3.4-4.5" lift shocks to others who were lifting 3" and asking what shocks to get.
Doing some searching I've found the following specs on stock XJ shock lengths - IF THESE ARE CORRECT.....
Stock XJ Shocks
Front
Collapsed- 13.0"
Extended- 21.25"
Travel- 8.1"
Rear
Collapsed- 13.4"
Extended- 21.5"
Travel- 8.1"
And the same info for the Bilsteins....
Bilstein 2-3" lift
Front 24-185622 2-3" lift
*Collapsed Length (IN): 13.58
*Extended Length (IN): 22.09
Rear 24-185639 2-3" lift
*Collapsed Length (IN): 13.68
*Extended Length (IN): 21.85
Bilstein 3.5-4.5" lift
Front 24-188197
*Collapsed Length (IN): 14.98
*Extended Length (IN): 24.61
Rear 33-066868
*Collapsed Length (IN): 14.88
*Extended Length (IN): 23.84
Now, if the values I found for the stock XJ shocks above are correct, then the Bilstein 2-3" shocks don't look to be that much more than a stock shock replacement???
Will these 2-3" shocks limit droop / travel?
Would I have had to bumpstop to keep from bottoming the 3.5-4.5" shocks out?
I plan to run 30x9.50 tires (*maybe 31.x10.50) so I can use all the travel and flex the suspension will offer.
I don't plan on hardcore wheeling, but I do plan to off road it with my family and flex it out if needed.
