Quite common and growing in popularity. It's equivalent to a new leaf pack as long as your main (top/longest) leaf isn't broken. It'll ride rougher than a good aftermarket pack, but it can be done much cheaper.

what or where would I find a good leaf pack?

RE is a good reputable company with good quality parts so yes, they're perfect for DD.

Bastard Pack? You'll have to make your own. It's fairly easy, just do your research.

with s10 leafs, my research shows that If you get a good set of leafs off the s10 then maybe all you need are the s10 main leafs. If not then probably the s10 2nd or 3rd leaf as well as the main. You'll just have to cut the eye's off the s10 main. so It should go something like XJ Main-S10Main-rest of xj leafs.

1 free research for you... Read \/\/

Is there a thread that explains specificlly the leafs? I've read on how to do the entire bastard pack...but not on how to figure out the hieght I'm going to get by combining them? Or how to figure out the height? I'm trying to stay between 2 and 3" and with this should I just do booster and coil spacers in the front?

idk if there's a thread like that. Search. I can't give a definitive answer to what spring will net what height due to what condition the springs could be in...

for 2" a coil spring spacer up front will be ok. For 3" you need new coils.

you best bet is to go get some s10 leafs and trail and error that sucker till you get the height you are looking for.

I read it somewhere but already forgot. What is the best type of steering setup to eliminate the dreaded dead spot? I thought it was cross-over but now I'm not sure. I'm not changing mine because it's not a DD but just in case in the distant future I want to build a touring/expedition rig that would be driven thousands of miles in the highway.
