For some reason I just don't like drop brackets or making anything hang lower than it already is stock.

so i do need to replace the UCAs as well? and i thought i could use my 3.5LCAs with the drop bracket? not have to buy new control arms along with new drop brackets? if anything ill just buy 5.5LCAs and done. just needed to know if there are any musts. and yes i got SYE and adj double shear tracbar..

dont want to go LAs cause its alot of $ and then i need to buy long travel shocks and limiting straps and spend way more money for a rig thats a DD and doesnt get beat to hell. no rocks in FL so i dont need epic flex.

You need UCAs at 4.5". At 5.5" you need brake lines, LCAs, UCAs, shocks, track bar, steering, SYE.

How far does 3" of lift and 33's put the stock bumper off the ground. Missouri has a max height depending on the weight of the vehicle and I don't want to lift any of my future Jeeps and measure it just to find out its too high to past inspection.

Go measure from the ground to your bumper. Add 3" for the lift. Stock tire size is 27 (?) 33-27 is 6 Half of that is 3" add that to what you had. That's where your bumper should be. 6" over your measurement.

That is what I thought but I wanted to make sure I didn't screw up the math somewhere.

I finally have my 5.5" RE lift and have it pretty much installed. So far I'm very happy with the new look. I do have a few issues I need to resolve.

1) I noticed the tierods and draglinks are at a sharp angle. It doesn't seem right. It was pretty difficult to get them to mate up with the pitman arm. Should I be looking at something else for the steering? Is it a MUST or just recommended? I should note that it seems like maybe the tierod end on the passenger side may hit the mount for the steering stablizer (little baby shock). I hope I'm calling the parts the right names.

2) I need to replace my driveshaft and I have a SYE, just not installed it yet. So I need to measure from yoke to yoke when the Jeep is sitting on the ground. Do I have to worry about the length when it is flexing or loaded up or anything? Do the driveshafts usually have some extra play to take that into account?

3) I need to get a set of 16x8 wheels with probably a 4" backspacing. They have to be 16 because a buddy is selling me some good tires at a great price. Any suggestions on some cheap wheels? I've looked around and 16x8 with a 4" backspace are difficult to find. 16 seems to be a bastard size. I've read that 16 tires are cheaper, however. Any advice?

I think that's it for now. Thanks everyone.

1) Yes, I'd look into a different style steering kit that will work at better angles with your lift. Get rid of the stabilizer.

2) Yes, if you measure correctly on the ground then you'll have enough play either way if they send you the correct shaft. I use a Front XJ shaft.

3) I'm not sure where you've found cheaper 16 tires but you should be able to pick up some cheap black steel wheels in that size.

I just got my RE 6300 5.5" long arm lift in the mail and am getting it powdercoated before I install it. Do you have any recommendations before I install it? What issues did you run into? What year Jeep did you put it on? Thanks.

Why are you going to Powdercoat something that is already powder coated.

No real issues as of yet (on install). I got a short arm kit. I put it on a '98. There was one issue of there being too much space for the upper control arms in the drop brackets, but that isn't going to happen for you because of long-arm kit. Also the lower control arms seemed a bit too wide where they mount in the bracket to allow the adjustment shim plates or whatever they're called to fit in there.

I only had problems getting all the parts to complete my kit. Some of the hardware was incorrect or missing, so I just went out and got some generic stuff. If you look back a few pages you can read up on my delivery issues. Too much of a headache to worry about some hardware.

It looks really nice so far. It's way taller than I thought it was going to be.

I would test if before you install if you don't get vibes skip it. I you get vibes install a hd crossmember with a 1" drop built it like the rustys crossmember it has a 1" drop and you don't lose any clearance

If your installing bushwhackers the 33s will fit fine. They would probably fit fine if you did minor trimming to the front.
