Who's to say a relocation bracket will break? I've spent the past 4 years driving and wheeling my relocation bracket no problem. I'm more concerned about people who drill a new hole to mount their stock tbar to.

When you do get an adjustable tbar, IRO double shear is definitely the most popular choice. I haven't heard a bad thing about em.

Step up your craigslist game. I bet you can find rear springs for under 200

I'm looking to get a 4.5 lift on my XJ. Could I fit 33s on it without rub or trimming?

Doubt it, but remove the flares and liners and maybe.
I have 5" lift Synergy progressive rate coils and 33"s would rub the fender liner during turns. These coils sit 1" higher than Rubicon Express 4.5" coils.

Forgot to mention as the next post suggests, the rear fit fine with 33"s

I didn't have to trim my rear fenders or even take the flare off. Did have to trim the front though.

Alright, I may just go with smaller tires. I'm not trying to do any trimming.

I have a '98 Sport and the springs are long past flat and shocks crumbling apart. The hight is down 1.5'' in the front and rear, I want to change them out for either a 2-3'' lift, and get wheels and tires later. I'm hoping to keep it under $500 so that will determine the hight in the end I'm sure. I have been following this thread for a while and see many people with similar scenarios, and have lead me to a few ideas. Anyone have experience with using ZJ UpCountry Monroe Sensatrac front shocks or 1986-92 Jeep Comanche Monroe Sensatrac part #37029 in the rear? I am looking at trying what this guy did minus the AAL, I want new packs. http://www.rocklizardfabrications.co...dget_boost.htm or go with the Rusty's 3" kit. http://www.rustysoffroad.com/rustys-...-pack-kit.html Is this kit all I need or would I have to get other items also? Extended brake lines, trans case drop, lower control arm or anything like that? Thanks for all the help! been loving this site.

Default WHAT ELSE?

Hey!
Soooo I am planning on lifting my 1998 Jeep Cherokee and I'm trying to decide between 3 inch and 4.5 inch. Aside from Wheel/Tire costs, what else would need to be upgrade on the 4.5 lift compared to the 3. Will it be that much more expensive?

So I am about to buy some wheels for my jeep. But I'm not certain what I need as I don't know much about wheels and back spacing and such. I have a 2001 sport xj. I currently have the stock steel wheels with 31x10.5x15 tires on it. After the bigger size tires I now rub on my lower control arms when turning sharp. What exactly do I need to space this out so this doesn't happen? I still want to stick with 15in wheels. Most likely I'll go with crager or pro comp steel rock crawler type wheels. Thanks for any help.

With backspacing, the less you have the further wheel sticks out. Its the distance from the inside edge of the wheel to the mounting surface where the bolt holes are. For your application you'll probably want 3.75" -4" of backspacing. Again, less is more. A 3" backspacing wheel will stick out an inch further than a 4" backspacing wheel.
