Hey all, I was just curious on how reliable the 8' long arm kit is. Has anybody ever used this kit? Is there any reviews? Please link them because I cannon seem to find any.

hey everybody, i have a 2000 xj sport that i converted to 4wd. i was wondering when you have to start getting longer brake lines when lifting an xj. i put 1 inch blocks in the rear and it already seems like the brake hose is getting close to being pulled in two. also, what is a transfer case drop? basically just a spacer between tranny crossmember and framerail? because if thats it i can make some spacers out of some 1/4 wall 2.5 inch ss tubing that i have laying around. and how much lift would make me have to get longer driveshafts and an adjustable track bar? any help would be greatly appreciated.

IMO though, there would be better options than that kit. And 8" is kinda high unless you boggin'.

Yes basically. Ss meaning solid steel? If so than yes thats it.
Idk if I would worry about a longer drive shaft. But maybe a sye? I COULD be wrong but the 97+ xj's are more likely to have driveline vibes so a sye would fix that issue dont waste your $$$ on a extended rear driveline when a sye will cost a tad bit more.
Track bar I myself do them with any lift.only because ive had deathwobbles that could make a hardened marine cry. And dont care for that again.
Hey guys,
So I'm piecing together a new lift, and have a quick Q.
I'm working on a 5.5 inch lift, and have 5.5 inch RE springs ready to go up front, but with the rear leafs, do I need to go 5.5 as well? I hear RE leafs run tall and there's nothing that I hate more than the raked look (on Jeeps) and just want a nice level ride.
So do I stick the 5.5's in the back? Also. what else is needed upon install with those leafs? Should my stock brackets be okay? (I'm on 3.5 right now.)
So far I've got:
RE shocks
extended brakes lines
IRO double sheer
CA drop brackets
Thanks for the help.

Going straight to a 5.5 leafs means using stock shackles which tend not to work so great at those heights. Basically you'll kick yourself later when you decide to get a smaller leafs and do the shackle and relocator lol

I'd keep the 3.5 leafs and get a shackle relocator and a 1.5" shackle, should get you at 5.5 while giving you a better ride and suspension travel.

Okay, my current leafs are garbage (AAL done wrong by PO) and are getting flat. If 3.5s + shackles is the best move on that, that's the way I'll go. I have read shackles aren't the best way to lift and to use true lift, what makes you guys say shackles? Not arguing, just trying to learn. I've only done suspension mods the other way (down).
Also, should my BS be okay?

I want to put a 2" lift on a 2001 XJ. It will be 99% daily driver so the lift is mainly for looks. My question is what do you all recommend for the above a 2" spacer front with 2" shackle rear or a 2" spacer front with 2" add-a-leaf rear? Thanks.

Shackle, or a relocation bracket and a slightly longer shackle.

what is all that needs to be done to achieve a decent 5.5 lift? i already have RE3.5superride w/ full springs. now im going to go up to RE5.5springs and RC 2in. shackles, and detours FSC & STM. i know longarms are what everyone recommends but money just isnt there for LAs. so im considering buying adj. control arms for a 5.5 lift or just getting drop brackets for my 3.5 control arms...another concern i have is about the UCAs. mine are stock. but would i need to replace them? if so what kind do yall recommend?
thanks for any help!!
