How do you relocate the track bar?

You can either drill a new hole for it like I did or get an adjustable track bar. You have to get the hole just right the first time if you drill it. I think there is a drop bracket too.

Thats what I was thinking of was the drop bracket. I would not suggest anyone drill a new hole for their track bar mount. Its way to critical of a part to be taking a chance with.

Default Axle centered

Hi guys im midway through putting a 3"inch RC lift on my 2000 XJ.fronts done BUT i encountered a problem which im not happy with, nowhere in the instruction sheet,or the joke utube fitting guide does it say that the front axle is going to be moved off center, the kit doesnt contain any kind of relocation bracket to move the trackbar the inch or so needed.Im in the UK so an adjustable bar is as rare as a Unicorn horn although iv seen on EBAY in the states someone does supply a bracket for a right hand drive xj.Im new to this so could one of you guys tell me if i get the bracket, jack the truck under the unibody release the eye end of the trackbar will the axle center itself to enable the bracket to bolt straight up??? thanks guys hope that all made sense...

Do you have someone that can give you a hand? If so, have them rock the jeep side to side while you are under the jeep with the track bar. As they rock it will move and you will be able to get the track bar and hole lined up. It may take a little time, but it will work, that is how I installed mine with my Zone 3" When I got my XJ aligned after doing this, I was only off center my 1/8" so not much, and not enough to need an adjustable track bar or relocation bracket.

Easier way is to just have someone turn the steering wheel, it will line up

Any of you guys ever use lca drop brackets? I bought a lightly used tuff country lift that was ment for a 3.5. With extended lcas tgan the guy got lca drop brackets and lifted it at 5.5" which is where I want it. Just wondering if ill have dd issues. Before I get long arms. Also at 5.5 should I get adjustable uca's? 96 Cherokee auto.

He also gave me an extended drive line and I have t case drops from a prior build hopefully I can do away with a sye for the time being since all that money is going towards a front end over haul.

Please pm me answers im kinda lost

Ok here is my question .

I'm about to put a 3" junk yard lift on my xj . About a month ago I found that I have a death wobble , so I researched death wobble and what I came up with is that the track bar is the most common problem . I also found out that the front end is going to sit off to the left , so is there a longer track bar that I can pick to center my front end?

Yes sir! Any adjustable track bar will help you. Many people on here like the iron rock offroad double shear track bar.

Hello all. Brand new here. I have a 1999 XJ Limited and I'm looking to get a Rough Country X series 4.5" lift and run 32x11.5" BFG KM2s. This is going to be my first lift install, however I feel like I am mechanically inclined enough for it. My question is: What else besides the lift kit do I need? I know I need a drop pitman arm, steering stabilizer, and shock boots. I've heard about 50% of people saying I'll need a slip yoke eliminator...do I? It seems to me that all it does is fix a slight vibration, if there's any at all. Mind you, this is my daily driver and 95% of the miles are on-road. The other 5% is just light wheeling, nothing too crazy. So far everywhere I want to go I've been able to go with my currently stock XJ.

Hopefully some more experienced Jeepers will know what else I need.

Thanks!

Actually you don't need a drop pitman arm, stabilizer, or shock boots. Shock boots keep dirt and grit on the shock seal and ruin it.

At 4.5 you will more than likely need a SYE. Every jeep is different so there is no way to tell if you do without a test drive.

Mine leans to the right a little. Not really a big deal but I'd like it to be flat. How can I figure out if it's caused by the front or back. I've checked the level of my garage to make sure I'm starting level. Also taken the sway bar off (no rear). I get about 1/2" to 3/4" lower on the right. Doesn't seem to make any difference if I'm (200lbs) in the driver seat or not.

Any chance I can get away with no sye at 5" of lift using 1.5" 3 degree lift blocks?
