Pretty sure you don't want to change the angle without a CV joint but 3 deg is pretty small. I think most people will flip-out about the lift blocks.
Non-CV joints = same degs at both U-joints.
CV joints = shim or whatever to zero deg at rear U-joint.

Lift blocks are just temporary until I can afford the RE kit. What do you meen shim or what ever to zero at rear u joint?

There wouldn't be any safety issues just doing the coils and shocks, leaving the track bar and control arms? I assume the big issue would be ride quality, and probably extra wear and tare on the track bar and control arms?

So lift blocks with zero deg is probably what you want.

There's a front and rear U-joint on your drive shaft. If you're not replacing the drive shaft then you should keep the angles the same at the front and back u-joints. Only if you're adding a shaft with a CV joint at the front should you try to remove the angle at the rear.
So lift blocks with zero deg is probably what you want.

Then don't lift it 5" til you can afford to do it right. Be patient and save up and get the parts to do it once and correct. You may not get vibes (though at that height it's highly unlikely) but if you get too much down travel and your rear shaft falls off it's gonna suck.
Not sure if this question goes here or not...but technically it is a lift question. Anybody know the coupon discount code for Iron Rock Off Road? I found the JP magazine coupon code, JP10N...but that doesn't seem to work anymore. Thanks.

We should start adding a zj tie rod to the lost of goodies for anything 3"+ its cheap enough and it makes a definite improvement in the offroad capabilities. Not having a bent tie rod is a good thing
