they were pretty bad and my links looked pretty much like the one in the picture but just on the drivers side.

Default Noob DW question

So I am new to XJ's and solid front axle vehicles in general but I decided to lift my XJ anyway. A buddy of mine and I did the lift ourselves. It was the 3" rough country AAL w/o lower control arms. As expected I had driveline vibes and death wobble after the lift. Vibes were cured via tcase drop. After the t case drop I took it to get an alignment. It was out of alignment and it cured 95% of my DW.

Before the lift I noticed that when turning very tight to the left (like into or out of a parking space) my front left wheel would kind of hop. It almost felt like there was tension being stored up and the hop happened as the tension was released. What does this mean and could it be a source of the DW.

While trying to diagnose my DW I crawled under the jeep and had a buddy turn the wheel back and forth. The track bar is tight and does not move. However I noticed that the whole front end kind of crab walked across the concrete as he sawed the wheel. Is this normal. I should also mention that this was before I took it for alignment.

Sorry for the long post but someone mentioned in another thread that I should post in this forum and I'm trying to cover all the details. Hopefully this is the preferred place for this topic. I attached a pic of my steering set up. Hopefully any info I left out can be gleaned from the pic.

Hey guys I have a 4.5" lift on my 95. Its my daily driver. I bought a set of 33" cooper discoverer stt's I'm going to be putting on. My question is rim width. I know A LOT of people run a 12.50 tire on a 8" wide rim. But what will make the tire last the longest? A 8" wide or 10" wide rim. I know the manufacturer of the tires say at minimum a 8.5" wide rim. But obviously people do it with a 8" all the time. Any info would be great!

No tires? Shouldn't have any clearance problems, but you might not pass inspection.

Default will they fit

i sure hope this is in the right spot
01 xj stock
i got a deal on some 2000 wrangler alloy wheels 15x8
from reading here it seems like the stock 255/75 or 235/75/15 tires would fit but i found a deal on some 255/70/15 the specs say they are the same diameter as the 235/75 but they are a little wider
would i have any problems with them rubbing ?

thanks

They'll be fine, and those Wrangler wheels will fit.

Okay so we've got my rear suspension fully disassembled but won't have time to put the new leafs in till next weekend. We're trying to work out how to flatten the spring enough to get it hooked into the two frame mounts. Suggestions? They're old man emu 3.5" lift HD dual rate springs.

Also, the guy at autozone tried to sell me 2 1/2" x 6" u-bolts to go over these leafs. In any case their computers were down so I had to skip on those for the day. What size should I get? Dana 35 rear axle, original u bolts measure to 2 3/4"x 6" but I'm sure I need longer.

Does anyone know it the stock pitman arm off a 93-98 grand cherokee will work as a drop pitman arm on an xj? According to what I have read, the pitman arm off a grand cherokee appears to be longer than the stock xj arm.

Just trying to save a few dollars. I can get one from RockAuto for $25 if it will work.
