OK that's what I had thought. I friend of mine has a car lift and I was gonna disconnect my shocks and measure that way. Now that I've got proper bumpstops and relocated the shock mounts in the rear my shocks aren't the right length and I can't flex for **** lol. Just waiting on the shackle relocation brackets from Ironman 4x4.

I wouldn't mind hearing his reasoning, though, if he cares to expound on his comment.

I'd rather pay more for a shock that's known for quality, ride and longevity on the Jeep. I won't suggest a product to someone unless I KNOW it works.
On my Silverado... $16.99 gasmatics. lol
I flipped a coin on the RC N2.0 shocks just to see how they do on my little red Jeep. Nice looking construction. They're holding up so far. They might be shot by the end of the summer but for 150 bucks in a set of monotubes you can't really go wrong.

I bought my 5.5 re long arm from 4 wheel parts a while ago. I remember that it seemed to take forever for it to ship. When it finally came all the parts were there, and all looked to be good quality. Since the instal I have had no problems with the kit. Everything fit well and looks real beefy. I was told by RE that bilstien is the one who still makes there shocks that was only a month ago.

What was the price tag on the one you were looking at?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zone-Offroad-3-84-01-Jeep-XJ-Suspension-Lift-Kit-with-Rear-Leaf-Springs-J21-J22-/251295208909?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a825c95cd&vxp=mtr
I got a lift question.
How high can I go before I need a track bar drop bracket or a new adjustable track bar? I'm making the jump from 3" to 5" and I've already dropped the t case and got longer brake lines. If I do need a new track bar or a bracket which one do you recommend?

Get an adjustable double shear t-bar with a frame side bracket. None of that axle side drop bracket nonsense.
I have a tire/wheel question. I'm going to be getting 31x10.5x15's and some new wheels. I have the option to get either 8" wide with -19mm offset or 10" wide with -44mm offset. They both have 3.74" of backspacing. I'm not sure how well the tires will fit on the 10" wide wheels. So should I go with the 8 or 10? Will it look bad with the 10's seeing as the tires will only be about .25" wider on either side? Also will the 10's even fit with that back spacing and offset?

I've been having a lot of problems with my rear differential popping and skipping and am in the process of looking for a new one, but I found something else that is probably contributing to it... my rear leaf springs are absolutely shot, and as far as I can tell, the bushing are gone or nearly so.
I want to swap those out fast, so I need to know: How can I tell what lift the old springs were giving to the car? I'm pretty sure they're sagging well below what they were when they were first installed. They're also coated in rust to the point of not being sure where to begin looking for a part number or something to identify them with. I've already got my eye on some replacements; I just need to make sure I get the right kind so as not to elevate the back of the truck too high and mess with something else as a result; I think the lift has to be at a certain matching height so the rear driveshaft reaches the diff properly as well.
Any info people can render would be appreciated.
