You are mistaken. When you lift a vehicle the control arms angles change. This change in angle is what causes the front to ride worse. The CAD kit drops the rear mounting point of all the control arms so they back at the factory angle. Now they Jeep should ride more like it did stock. CAD brackets make a huge difference in ride quality. That's really all they're for...

Well, let's see:

The steering wheel, the seats, the wheels and tires, the front axle, etc...

What exactly are you looking for?

Well what do you suggest then? I wasn't sure if lift shackles were a good idea or not?

There's nothing wrong with lift shackles. Just make sure you get your angles right.

I know how they work. Lol.

But at 2.5-3" would they even benefit me that much? Thought they were more like a 4" plus kinda deal.

Ah, For some reason I was reading 4"s.

You can run them at 3"s but you really only need them at 4... like you said. So yeah, marginal gains.

On a stock Jeep from New York that's never been apart... I figure about 2 and a half days.

On a lifted Jeep that's been apart several times... around 30 minutes.

The main thing I'd be cautious about is removing the shackle bolts. I can almost promise that the bolt is seized in the bushing sleeve. That means new bushings in the rear of the leaf springs.

You'd better start spraying that thing down now, hope for the best and start early in the morning.

Go ahead and buy a case of beer. And tylenol..youll need it. My installation time for my first rig 3 inch (stock 88) was about 12 hours..completely by myself. Ive never hated jeeps so bad. I didnt break any bolts but some stuff was just a PITA. My 2nd lift was going from a 3 inch to a 4.5 in my 98.. install time was about 8 hours...and another big PITA. But after you finish youll be pleased.

I started a build page but progress will be slow. Thanks in advance. Newbie Mike from Ohio.
My buddy has the 3.5 OME super ultimate kit from DPG. Very good kit and good service from Dirk there. Rides quite nice.

Haha yea it was early right?

Anyways, I'm thinking I should definitely keep it at 2.5" now. I know at 3" LCAs are gonna off enough to need longer ones. Not a problem. But if its enough to hurt ride quality and new longer/adjustable won't improve the angle any, it won't improve ride quality. Damn. This is why I'm starting the research now... !
