Default 8.8 question

Ok, would a 8.8 rear ( and whatever the front exploder axle ) set up that's been modified to fit a 98 xj work on my 89' ? Found a good deal, but don't want to pull the trigger without knowing.

Thanks in advance

The 8.8 is from the rear of an Explorer, not the front.

But if its been used on a leaf sprung XJ rear it should work just fine.

Guess I didn't word it correctly. I've got a deal for both front and back axles. The guy says he modified it to fit a re-geared them ( both front/back )

I think front is a whole a different type of axle.

People usually just buy the rear axle and buy something else for front.

I think the axles he's looking at are coming from a 98 XJ, in which case they should work fine.

Why would anyone waste their time putting an aluminum dana 30 IFS in a jeep? That diff is super weak.
