Not sure if I'm posting in right section but here goes..... Purchased an Explorer 8.8 rear end for my Cherokee. Am starting to round up parts and THOUGHT I read somewhere that 1310 & 1350 had same bearing cap size? Figure if I have drive shaft disconnected I'll put a 1350 in the new adapter.....thanks for any help you have for me.....Pez

They definitely aren't the same size, but even if they were, it's a pretty pointless "upgrade". There's no reason that 1310's wouldn't be strong enough to handle our power. Hell, you could probably quadruple the 4.0's output and not run into issues. Just get yourself some nice spicer u-joints and call it a day.

Ujoint sizes here http://driveshaftspecialist.com/HTML...D%20Guide.html and for an 8.8 you can either get a 1310 drive flange ( I think some rangers used them) or use the factory explorer one which is a 1330 series. I used the factory flange and purchased a 1310 to 1330 conversion joint from Oreillys. I believe the joint number is 348.

Remember that a bigger u-joint means the joints cant's flex as much. Like if your rear end is at full droop, the yokes might contact the u-joint body.
