Hey guys, I've got a 99 XJ 4.0 5 spd 4wd, and i've been thinking about getting a bored throttle body to get a little more power out of it. However, i have heard rumors that guys who have done this have lost low end torque. Anyone have any info or experience with this?
TIA

Bad rumor. Don't ask for or accept technical advice from those folks anymore.

I run Jeepersandcreepers 62mm TB. Usa made very nice craftsmanship. The best way to order is to call. His website is outdated but he runs a great business.

Get in touch with thexjfiles: I got my bored tb from him. I sent him my dirty one from my jeep and in about a week I had it back in pristine condition, cleaned, bored out, literally just bolted it back in, did an ecu reset and cranked right up.
Will save you a few hundred bucks, I highly recommend

The bored TB is suppose to give you a better throttle response not reduce your low end torque. Co worker at the shop did it to his jeep and really likes it. He said he didnt have a lose in low end torque.

Just an FYI, www.strokedjeep.com's throttle bodies are not only bored, but have bigger throttle plates and cost only about $100. He has an exchange program that's real simple. No downtime for your Jeep.
Bad rumor.
I bought mine from thexjfiles, and the difference was well beyond "noticable". Couldn't take off without burning tires for the first couple take offs, thanks to the great throttle response.

Also used your 'tips' for the TPS and other adjustments, including replacing all battery grounds.
Thanks!
