Default 33x14.5 Tires, can I run them

I found these on Craigslist.

http://lancaster.craigslist.org/pts/3795423119.html

33x14.5x15 boggers. The price is awesome, and hes got rims to match. But could I effectively use such a wide tire like this offroad only with stock gearing?

I'm on 3 inches of lift, but I'm trimmed and I have bump stops I'm waiting to Install as soon as I get a set of 33 tires

you could run those if you had the right back spacing

Awesome, Thanks. What about power with stock gears? I guess that is my biggest concern

The width won't really affect it other than the heavyier tires. But with 33s your definatly gonna see a big power drop. I'm on 31s and they suck, but its not unbearable for now. If it never goes on the highway you'll probly be ok

You better have a lot of back spacing so they don't rub when you turn.

They will be very heavy and kill mileage and power.

I have 3" with 3.25" back spacing and 33's. you need back spacing... trimmed fenders and bump stops.

Those are going to be some heavy tires, Not to mention they are going to put a ton of stress on the steering and bearings.

Also remember I assume your in PA they are ****'s about Tire Coverage so keep in mind your going to stick out a ton no matter what flares you are running. 33's suck with stock gearing and that is coming from someone who is running 33x10.50's on 3:55's

Same set of tires here.
48lbs each is way better than my 70 lb TRXUS mt's I had.

I'm running 34x10.5 LTB's on stock 3.55's. They measure 33" tall and are awful on hills, but around town isn't too bad if you accelerate slowly. Keeping the tranny in 3rd helps stop constant up and downshifting. The added weight of a set of 14.5's will bog it down even more though, and also be aware that boggers will be very bad on the street. Not sure how much street driving you do but if you want to balance them, use bb's. I used about 8oz of steel bbs in each of my wheels and they balanced great.

Thanks guys, I forgot to mention that these tires would be for strict off road duties only

You'll be fine then, just use 4lo liberally and make sure your front end is strong

I had those tires. They were badass off road. Then I got some 33x15.5x15 and those were even more badass. They are extremely stable. I've run on 3.07s and it sucks ***. Now I'm on 4.88s and its boss off-road. They heavier tires need deeper gears. I ran 12.5s and it was fine on 3.07s.

I have a 3" lift and 33x12.5 tires on 15's with 4" of backspacing. Mine rub just slightly at full lock. I don't know the backspacing on those wheels, but you might need some spacers. I also have stock gearing (3.55). Lower gears would be great, but so far my Jeep hasn't exploded. I just use 4-Low...it runs like a Jeep with stock wheels in 4-high.

$100 is a good deal on those tires...they're almost gone, but if you keep it off the pavement they should last a good while.
