Default Is your XJ as fast as mine?

OK, the only XJ I have owned is the one I just bought and I'm used to it now. I just had a chance to drive another XJ and it was a total dog.

All I can say is my XJ hauls A$$. Besides the funky air filter set-up I also have some aftermarket exhaust that has a pretty cool rumble. I have no idea what the other owner did to it but from the outside it looks stock. Is this normal? Are most of them pretty powerful?

It's an automatic and if I put her to the floor she'll bake the tires all day and launch like a bat out of he!!. Just wondering how much power your XJ's have.

yeah if the tires are not oversized and you have a few mods like intake and exhaust it will get on it!

My renix is pretty slow, unless you give it alot of throttle (>50%)
I need an intake and a better exhaust.
My girlfriends 96, Stock with 235/75s is quite fast.

My renix is also slow, unless I take 2nd gear up to 40mph. But I have 33"s and 3.07 gears. My dads 1996 is pretty quick, but his is all stock.

my xj couldent spin my 31"s on dry asphalt if my life dependend on it. haha i did a complete rebuild on the engine. but its a 93 stock as far as the engine goes. im going to a bigger exhaust from the header back. and mabye a new intake manifold. the the 2000 and up xjs have a beter flowing intake manifold from what i saw on "Trucks" this morning. so that outa give me some more pep!

I'm satisfied with my XJ...it dumps on all my buddys' vehicles. I dumped on my buddy in is Yota today. I cruised up next to him in 4th and I saw him try to gas it so I just dropped it into 3rd and casually passed him. It also spins the tires like there's no tomorrow. Last time I did a burnout, I had the heat on full blast and it sucked all the smoke in through the vents

hemi magnums arent really even fast, i've put more than a few in my rearview in my thunderbird. it's an 88 5.0 t-bird with a few bolt ons and a cam. soon to have ported heads and intake, 2.5" h-pipe, and lower gears...o and a 5 speed.

Then i'm planning to do some hunting for even faster cars to kill.....

2.5l 4cylinder TURBO bring it! You wouldn't know by looking but my Dodge Shadow CSX will take the regular hemi(not srt8) and put it in it's place. It's amazing what technology can do.

My mods k&n filter, better located intercooler, stock turbo boosts at 12 lbs.

speaking of 2.5 4 cylinder turbos, i'm thinking about putting that very thing in my 84 mustang...

stroked ford 2.3 boosting about 25psi with all the supporting mods.....

I dont have enough money to see if mine is fast. Gas is way to expensive! I have had my jeep for about 6 months and I dought once i've put it to the floor once. Besides these are built for climbing and trail riding, not for racing.

Keeping it all in perspective....Jeeps are not fast except for the SRT8...that is quick! My magnum is not the quickest car...but after driving the Jeep for a while and getting in the 4100lb sled with all the comforts and gadgets of a pretty high end car....I can't complain. Comparing a 4 banger turbo to a 2 ton vehicle? Put it up against a SRT4 caliber with a few mods. That would be a good match up, as long as you like torque steer. Personally I like big cars with V8's and rear wheel drive. I need all the room for my kids, dog and hockey bags!
