Default Window trim

I've got a 96 2-door XJ and I'd like to find some window trim. The coating is coming off and the chrome beneath is showing. Everything I see is for the 4-doors.

Remove the trim and use a heat gun to soften the coating. Then use an Xacto to CAREFULLY remove it. You can use a Scotch Brite to clean it up afterwards. Ive removed the coating on a scrap piece, but never repainted. Plasti-dip, maybe?

The heat gun is a good idea for removing the material. Thanks. I've also heard others say they used the tool dip but the example I saw looked pretty amateurish. I wonder if that stuff can be applied with a sprayer?

You can get Plasti-dip in a spray can.

I did it and used the Pasti-dip in the spray can. Been three years and still holding up well much to my surprise. Once you start spraying you don't want to stop until can empty. I find they clog real easy once you put it down.

I've used that on lots of different things and I personally think it works pretty well.
