So I was wondering what to do with this piece of burl wood. Solid maple, not a slab. It was a table. I have two others, both larger and the wife doesn't really like them. I hate to cut it up, but I was thinking that if I cannot have it in the house, why not use it to make a burl wood bezel. It is big enough to do it. Too opulent? I am currently rebuilding everything on the XJ, taking it down to the unibody so it is all on the table. Redoing the interior and changing it from spice or whatever color that is to grey to match the WJ power leather seats and leather rear seat.

Man that is definitely something you don't want to put in the trash. If I were you I would put it up on offerup make a buck on it and use that money to buy more parts . You know those chrome pieces on the floor in the back of the XJ, you could also do something like that but with the wood. I think that would be a crazy style in the back

Thought about that too. I have been kicking it around for years, along with the other two

I have a feeling the person who's going to give you the best idea on what to do with it is going to be Ralph XD. I try to be the Mr style guy on here but I'm really not coming to anything with this wood besides the floor idea.

OMG! The five rules. I've never heard them come back from anyone outside my group of friends from Ann Arbor. Those rules can be very useful.

I couldn't help myself. That entire thread "Super Hot Muffler" was hilarious. I decided I'd live by your five rules from now on XD. Before last week, I even had "Also, always carry an extinguisher in the vehicle at all times." But my buddy passed away the other day... https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f9/11-...day-us-259571/

I'm getting less imprudent in my old age. I've made a mount to carry an extinguisher in each of my vehicles.

It sucks to lose someone before their time. A friend of mine died in a car wreck his senior year of high school. That kind of thing hits everyone hard. We can't hide from the pain of the loss, but we can't forget to celebrate the time we shared.
