Interior Upgrades/Pic request
Hi all,
I have a 1998 Sport with a light gray interior. I really want to add leather seats to it, but I am having the hardest time finding a light gray leather interior on either a ZJ or a WJ.
I do have access to a set of nice WJ black leather seats. I'm not sure how those would go with the light gray interior. They would match the black door cards and dash piece, but still, I'm not sure. Anyone have pics of this?
I'm almost wondering if it would be easier to SEM dye the rest of the interior around those seats. Basically converting to an all black interior. Shots of that?
Also, are the back seat bottoms easier to install from a ZJ or a WJ? It seems that the WJ seats require hammering the fender wells out a bit to fit right. Pics of that process?
Also, what about installing a WJ steering wheel? My main concern is that the cruise function wouldn't work. I know they have a volume control on the back side, which I wouldn't need.
What other upgrades to the interior would be a neat one?

interior matters to me... best bet would be to look in the junkyard for factory leather xj seats... it could take some time but are findable... but you can't just swap the covers the foam is different so you have to swap the whole seat... I hope that helps

There really isn't anywhere around here to mud anyway.
I like having nice stuff in my Jeep. Sure a WJ is more upscale (I'd love to have one). But, the XJ is still a superior vehicle in terms of reliability with electronics (for the most part).
I don't own a Jeep for the off-road aspects of ownership. I own it because its a comfortable vehicle, extremely reliable, and cheap/easy to fix when things do go wrong.
