Paid $1500 for this 2001 4dr 4wd with 135k on the clock.
I just purchased it Dec 2011.
Had stock wheels and tires and no lift at time.
Took advantage of some killer sales right before Christmas and Added a RE 3.5" Lift with full leafs and the 31/10.5/15 BFG AT'S AND DC-2 Wheels.

Paid $2500 for my 99 sport in '09. Only had 75,000 miles on it. Now has only 86,000. Beautiful shape, no rust. Only needed rotors, pads and drums when purchased. Since replaced trans cooler lines and fog light switch. 100% perfect!
A young college girl put it on craigslist as "winter beater." dad gave it to her and she dint want it. Plus she needed to pay it off. Went to get the insurance after we paid her and my insurance company said there was lien on it. So wife and I went to the girls bank and she was there paying it off. WHAT A sTEAL!!!!!

Bought my 98 SE on the 16th with 51xxx for 2600. That was after a $2000 trade-in on my wrongler though. Still one helluva deal. It now has 52xxx miles
My '91 XJ was about 4000$ with 100k miles.
Sold it two years later for about 6000$. Too bad I'd sunk about 2000$ into repairs and tuneups.
This was all in a south-american country with insane inflation, though.

I just bought my second XJ for 1100$. (originally asking for 1200$) It's a 1993 with 134,000 miles, I-6, automatic, NP231, A/C, Cruise Control, full size spare, tinted windows and original OEM wheels. (in the trunk) The old owner did some maintenance on it. Wires, plugs, cap, front brakes. It looks good, except for the roof that will need some love this summer.
This one is for the wife.
