Quote: I lied. The silver circuit breaker you need has to be in Slot # 29 in the Junction Box. 25 amp. If the Jeep did not come with a driver's power or both seats power and heated then the slot will be empty.
Nope nothing in #29.

Quote: Mind the explosion of tools but I got the front axle pulled out of my rig today. Felt nice!

Yesterday I finished up the fuel pump in my daily and cleaned the tree sap from EVERYWHERE.

Next up will be the headliner, getting the AC working again, and finally getting rid of the NY plates...
this is one of my favorites on the page. Why did you pull the axle?

Kinda figured cause as I said if the Jeep did not come with at least a power driver's seat it will be empty.
So my guess is if you decide to try and hook up to that connector under the passenger seat you will need the circuit breaker.
Other thinking there is no power to that connector.

Yeah I missed that part the first time lol. Still a while before winter so I got time to get it sorted out. Thanks for the help though.

So I went back to a previous project.

Now don't get all excited. It is very Mickey Mouse under the seat cover.
But I think I achieved position really good.
The height where to mount the bracket for the headrest to the steel plate under there.
The space away from the steel plate.
In other words the bracket is not mounted to the steel plate. There is a spacer making it sit away from it.
Also the "whiplash distance", about 2", from the back of my head to my headrest for the front seat
is very similar to the distance that the headrest is positioned on the back seat.
Will try to show some more details when I fine tune what is going on under that cover.
Like I said, everybody sing along now, "M-I-C, K-E-Y, M-O-U-S-EEEEEEE" going on under there.

I have plenty of seat parts to cannibalize to get this done. So that is not a problem
If and when I get this done in a satisfactory way want to know the part that is really going to hurt?
Putting holes in the upper part of my nice kinda expensive CoverKing seat cover. LOL.

This old man helped me get the new tail lights on this evening. Maybe one day my rear bumper will show up 🤷🏻‍♂️

I thought you already had it done lol. I bet you'll be able to stitch up around the holes pretty well. Which seat covers are those? Like the material. I was just going to ditch my entire rear seat to save some money but my gf convinced me to keep it. Now I need something nice looking to cover it with. Auto anything has a 10% off sale on them now.

I have been working on this for quite sometime.
I am guessing you are talking about these:

And not the Camel factory leather seat in the picture with the headrest.
Those are the CoverKing Rhinohides. They are not leather. Some sort of PVC plastic.
I bought mine from AutoAnything sometime ago too. They were $200 each for front and back then.
Some sort of Black Friday/Holiday sale.
And I had a 20% off promo code which they let me use. Front and back came to $320.
And while that is a lot of money in my book am not sorry I spent it one bit.

I talked to my friends daughter. She sews. Makes all these goofy things that she sells on Ebay and at flea markets.
I asked if she could handle this and she said yes she could. Was afraid the seat cover would be to big for her to work with.
I figure have her duplicate how the holes for the headrest posts are set up in the front seat covers best she can.
Thinking they don't have to be perfect cause the headrest will hide them. Just don't want the cover to fray or unravel from making the hole.
If I had to try and do this myself was thinking would do it how the classic car guys put holes in a new carpet for the seat belts and whatnot.
They heat up a metal rod and poke it through.

Also in anticipation of pulling this off I contacted CoverKing. Explained what I was trying to do.
Asked if they could sell me two more front seat XJ headrest covers.
Cause all the stuff I am using to try and pull this off is from extra XJ leather removable headrest front seats I have.
They said they wanted $30 each for the headrest cover. Said screw it and ordered them.
Here is the kicker. They never charged me for them. I think they dealt with it as a warranty situation so.....

Quote: I got most of the interior cleaned up and reinstalled. Still need to figure out where to wire in the heated seats.
That stuff looks better than I figured it would. Was the insert still soft?
I would think a properly fused relay and new wiring including a short, 10 gauge ground wire would be the best bet.

My bet is the seat heaters he got with the seats have their own harness and relay for each seat already.
He just needs some where to steal power from. Ground can be anway.
Just that the seats suck up some power so I think that is why guys use the cigarette lighter.
Pretty sure the cigarette lighter in an XJ runs off a 25 amp fuse in the Junction Box.
