About how long is that fuel line from the tank to the filter? While I am replacing the fuel filter I might as well replace the rubber line that was installed at the factory.
Not a clue. Remeber that is not my Jeep but a shot I grabbed off the internet to show you the diff breather.
I don't own my '96 anymore so can't look and my '00 is set up differently.
Fuel filter is in the tank.
Went to Sam's club and bought a Durcell Premium AGM battery (relabed Deka Intimidator) for $70 less then they want for the Deka branded. Jeep starts nicely now.
This seemed insurmountable a few months ago. But YouTube has a lot of videos so I feel like I have help nearby. Time to replace mask when you can see particles of glass dust on the filter. After loosening the seal from the inside, starting at the top, closed the hatch and gave a little tug on the tape. The window slowly slid out of the seal and dropped to the sheet. Not too much cleanup. Wrapped the broken window in the sheet (not a body), taped it up and put in the dumpster. bagged the seal with the glass bits in it in case the replacement window doesn’t come with one.

I think they put the gasket on wrong that is behind the light. So I removed it and put it back on the way I think it should go. We will see what happens next time it rains. LOL.
Also I think at some point I will get another of the short harness that is in there and splice the connector from it to the light, getting rid of that "fake bulb", so it will connect directly to the bigger harness in the hatch.

I like that. I may have to get one. The third brake light on my is dull and crappy looking.

Funny you should mention that. Cause I noticed mine is too. Was watching the latest episode of Wheeler Dealers and they redid the headlights on a Mercedes Benz.
You know how they get all clouded?
Wondering if you could refresh a factory third eye using the same or similar method.
I just noticed that they are out of that one in the listing and I choice that particular one cause the others looked like the chrome reflector inside showed.

What size hose goes on the differential vent? I have like 18' of 3/8" right now, but only 1' of 5/16".

I used 5/16" hose. Bought 11' but thinking I used about 9'.
But if you can secure 3/8" good enough with a clamp why not.
I would at least try before I bought more 5/16".
Plus if you use the factory front diff top hat breather for the rear then 3/8" will be easier to get that into.
If I remember correctly it is a tight fit in 5/16" for the breather and I had to use the brake cleaner trick to get it in.
Also I did not use just regular clamps but decided to go with fuel injection ones in the appropriate size.
That was probably overkill. LOL.
Bottom line if it secures good then it will be fine. It is just a breather.

I already have one extra fuel injection clamp for 3/8" more than I need for my fuel line replacement. Can use the wimpiest 3/8" fuel line I have for that. O'Reilly sold me 6' of non-fuel injection line, when I went in to have them get the right stuff, they gave me a different variety of the wrong one, and 3rd time got it right.

As for the vent on the axle itself, I cannot find anything on cleaning that. Not going to put a cotton swab down there whatever it is. Is it just a hollow threaded fitting? Is squirting brake cleaner over it going to do any good? A strand of copper wire maybe?
Already know (I think) from other check valves up front how to clean that one that goes into the frame rail. Some CRC or similar electric parts cleaner will get rid of the oil without damaging plastic. Second choice is brake cleaner.
One of these days will run that one up to the engine bay to sit next to the other vent.
Year: 1998 Classic (I'll get it running soon....) and 02 Grand
Model: Cherokee (XJ)
Engine: 4.0
Finally finished the rear brake job on the WJ, after making an early morning trip to NAPA to swap out a defective caliper. That sure cost me a bunch of time!
Anyway, it's nice to have parking brakes again.....
Tomorrow I'm going to look at a 2004 Grand with my son, then home to (maybe) finish the front axles and struts on the wife's minivan.
Reinstalled air box and filter. Added new air hose to throttle body, cleaned throttle body. Added 17" of 9/16" hose from air box to breather fitting, and new breather fitting and grommet.
Recently I noticed a leak at the tranny pan gasket. I also noticed the pan had no drain plug. I bought a new pan with drain plug and a gasket/filter kit, along with 8 qts of ATF +4. Now that I can drain it quickly and easily I plan on driving it for awhile, then drain it again to get more of that old fluid out of there. The leak was due to someone using a standard silicone gasket, instead of an RTV type to handle the heat. I don't know if that makes a difference. I went with a Fel Pro composite gasket this time.
