Replaced a couple of cracked vacuum hoses in the engine compartment. Also ordered a transmission pan cover that has a drain plug in it. The current cover gasket has a leak so I figure if I'm going to have to pull the cover I'm going to replace it with one that's easier to drain.

I've been having good luck with PB Blaster Silicone Spray on the rubber lines. Seems to keep them like new, but it won't repair a cracked line. When I get new lines I clean them good and hit them with silicone spray. Even have factory heater lines from 1996 that look new.

They are over 1/2" thick. Thinking a good size to throw under the Jeep to lay on when working under there.
Have to see one up close and personal to determine if it would work as we would want though.
Those look interesting. Kinda small, though. In addition to my stall mats, I've been using an ordinary door mat, of the commercial variety. Like these.
THe nice thing about them is, you can roll them up, then let them unroll under the car. Saves shoving something into place.
My tranny gasket has a small leak so I called the shop and asked them how much to install a new one. Their quote was $225. I decided for that much I'd do it myself so I've purchased a new gasket ($18), 8 qts of ATF+4 ($48), a primary filter ($20), and a new pan cover with a drain plug ($41). All told it's $125. Now I just need time and some good weather.
1996 XJ Sport. Didn't realize I had a vacuum leak, but I found a broken rubber tube near the rear of the intake manifold under a check valve. The line travels across the firewall to the passenger side, into another valve and into a tube that enters firewall near air box area.
Problem was the rubber line that connects the check valve to the manifold had a big ID at the manifold, and a small ID at the valve. Used 1/4" shrink tube lined with heat activated glue on the valve. Spritzed everything with PB Blaster silicone spray after.
Original was pretty bad setup. Ratcheting, but a Walmart oil change guy could ratchet it down so tight the next Walmart guy needed a pipe wrench to get it off. Top eventually came off anyway. Replaced with a generic cheap-o and it had a little seepage.
This time used one from O'Reilly that has an o-ring, and spritzed it with some silicone spray before installing. MasterPro part #8111
Sprayed down fuel filter and hardware with brake cleaner in advance of replacing filter tomorrow. Cleaned off oil from rear diff in prep for replacement rear diff filler plug replacement. Reckon I need to be looking up the right gear oil to top it off with, or have some just in case. Need to find the vent and line too. Should look for that while I am replacing filter tomorrow.

Most likely any 75/80W 90 gear oil will be fine.
Vent is coming out of the rear brake hose and runs up into the uni-body.
