Detailed my interior getting a start on October maintenance.
First time I have done anything to the Jeep since Labor Day.
I would post a picture but not like you can tell that my Jeep is all nice and shiny inside. LOL.
Didn't do to it but got for it an abrasive spot blaster gun. Was recently working under the XJ and saw a few places I wouldn't mind cleaning up and treating. Got a sale catalog a few days later with this in it and decided to give it a go. https://www.sportsmansguide.com/prod...-gun?a=2215320
Over the weekend I found a Pull-A-Part driver's side seat for my XJ from a 2001ish Cherokee del Grande. Replaced my collapsed completely broken seat with a spiffy electric one, minus the electric junk.
Today, dropped in some stainless steel 5/16" ID x 1 1/4" OD fender washers (and 3/8" x 1 1/4" OD, which was a waste of metal because I was not paying attention) over the studs and tightened the flange nuts down on those. One of each per stud. Used the larger flange OD nuts from the GC donor. Cranked it all down with spiffy new Harbor Freight ratcheting 13 schmillimeter wrench.
Wish I could have found hardened steel washers and new wide flange grade 8 nuts, but hopefully this adjustment will work better than what the factory did.

Reason: added "fender washers"
Ordered two cans of Mopar touch up spray paint. I have several small imperfections in the paint which I'm going to try to fix. The paint is $31 with shipping. When it's all said and done it should run me around $75-100. Well short of what a body shop would charge me. Will it be perfect ?......no, but it will be a whole lot easier to look at.

Ive got a couple of cans of Duplicolor sitting here that im waiting to use for my hood and cowl area for that reason.
Limit straps... technically I don't need them with struts but they are redundant just in case a failure happens the axle will not be free to drop uncontrolled.

These are super nice to have. I recently bought the harbor freight equivalent. Before that I had the bottom feed style and it was a joke.
Had a cheap bottom feeder years back and gave it away. Good to hear from someone whose used one of these. Hooked it up yesterday w/o any medium just to see if it worked. Compressor was at ~75lbs. Couldn't hold my hand in front of it very long. lol I'm going to pick up a short coiled air hose for as soon as I can.

No not really I suck with documentation ... any questions I could easily answer . It was built in that dirt lot with a few very basic tools... mig welder , rogue bender and couple angle grinders all ran off a hobo freight predator generator for 110 and 220 since it's too far from the garage for power . No fancy tools it's rig anyone can build .

Finally got my affordable offroad elite bumper on. Was going to rattle can it but I was in the process of moving and didn't have the space or time so I got it powder coated for $120.
Diagnosed my blown fuse problem. Shifted to 1/2 the other night, gauge lights went out. Replaced fuse, did it again. Today, I pulled open both bezels, since the TCase wasn't being illuminated, replaced the bulb, and noticed the wire on the Transmission indicator was getting pinched by the lever. Repaired that, and gave her a quick bath.
My new oil sending unit arrived DOA. Pending new part or refund. I have the filter adapter kit, new drain plug, oil filter, and oil, just waiting to cross the 3k mark next week or two.
1996 XJ Sport. Didn't realize I had a vacuum leak, but I found a broken rubber tube near the rear of the intake manifold under a check valve. The line travels across the firewall to the passenger side, into another valve and into a tube that enters firewall near air box area.
Problem was the rubber line that connects the check valve to the manifold had a big ID at the manifold, and a small ID at the valve. Used 1/4" shrink tube lined with heat activated glue on the valve. Spritzed everything with PB Blaster silicone spray after.
