I had replace my both my rear shocks last week. After inspecting a metal rattling sound in my rear i found my right rear shock had a broken bar pin and was resting onon my tail pipe. Heres the broken Barpin and shot bushing........ So i ordered 2 bilstein 5100 shocks for a 3.5- 4.5in lift. While installing I realized that my leafs were saggin pretty bad and so what I thought was a 3in lift wasnt even close. the new shocks didnt have very much room to compress. I was worried about bottoming out the shocks. So I rushed a pair of Rough Country adjustable shackles. This fixed that issue. And heres a pic of them installed. I really like the new shackles they ended up evening the back up with the front perfectly and gave me lift needed so i dont have to worry about bottoming out my shocks. I do have a new problem now. The right shackle is now pressing my exhaust about 3- 4in down. Nothing a trip to Jays exhaust wont fix. Heres the pic of the shackle pushing the exhaustdown and a pic of the rubber exhaust strap. You can see how far it is being pushed down.
I'd smash that exhaust in a heartbeat. I have a dump around the axle so I don't mess up the exhaust any more
replaced the grease zerks on the bushing side of my long arms, they were dry since the zerks were cracked at the bends and leaking grease every where, they were also giving me a nasty creaking sound
also started to install my gentex mirror but ran out of day light and connectors finish and get the mirror powered
tinkered with the swig out portion of my tire carrier for a while to see if i would like a modified version of it....i didnt
Went out into the cold and intermittently rainy morning for migas and coffee and was rewarded with a bonus: gentlemen, I give you... this thing!
I'd drive it!
That's a common wheeling rig around me. There are a few guys that run 31's and one guy with 9 inches of lift on 33's. Some people have made them into really cool rigs.
