^ yup.
I used 2 grade 8 washers. C-Rok actually makes a spacer plate now especially for the larger durango box. You can see the gold spacer washers in this photo
Checked the oil pressure in my '98 since the dash gauge started acting jikky recently.
At times it would only read 20 psi at an idle. Mechanical gauge read 64 psi at normal operating temp under load and 45 psi at idle. That's acceptable to me especially considering it has 208,000 miles on it.
Purchased the rms last week but haven't had time to get under it to replace. Will replace oil pump and screen with OEM even though the pressure is within spec just for piece of mind since I'll already be in there to do the rms.
As has been stated on here many times: always check your oil pressure with a mechanical gauge.

Had to space it out as the stock frame space was just a bit to shallow for the size of the new box. It is significantly bigger than the stock one.
Thanks for the pic's..... it looks like a very simple change over

I just honestly Dont see the reason. I swapped in a Durango box months ago and it fit just as the xj box did. Everything was the exact same as the xj box except the ratio.

Bought it a water pump, just a couple more small bits to grab before it gets an entirely new cooling system, minus heater core and fans. Hoping the nice weather will hold for at least one more day
So far this week I have cleaned up some surface rust on the fenders, reinstalled the OEM flares with Norton double sided tape (not going to last), broke and replaced the stock radio antenna, washed it, then went out and got it a little dirty again.
Front sway bar is connected and the right rear tire is just about to come off the ground, it is sitting on a rock in the picture. I really need to find a job so I can get some lockers , proper flares, and bigger tires. I took a different route today and found a couple spots I had to back up and get a little more momentum to clear things without two tires coming off the ground Never got stuck or had to back out completely so that is a bonus for a relatively stock XJ, just a lift and cheap tires
the '89 got new u-joints in the front shaft, full chasis lube and damage inspection form earlier trips. mostly scratches on new long arms and rock rails but a gnarly dent in the oil pan that almost ripped out the plug. JY trip in the works.
the 96 received the old adj short arms that came off the 89, rear axle shims that allowed me to remove the trans drop kit that it came with (new poly brown dog motor mounts had a bad vibe with the automatic, gone now that it sit the way it should), and a new thermostat
