Did some investigating this afternoon to determine that my 99 has cast rotors and hubs (thanks to info here in CF).
I'm going to be ordering new hubs this week. While I had the rotors off, I sprayed lots of PB blaster on the hub nut as well as the 3 attachment bolts.
I also realized that the dust shields are toast, so I ordered a new set from Quadratec. So hopefully next weekend I can get the front hubs swapped out and get rid of the front end growl....

lol... there's a dimmer in the settings. If you hook it up correctly, you can set it to "Auto" and it will dim with the parking light circuit.Originally Posted by TrailerTrash
I put that same one in my woman's car. she loves it cause its bright and lights up red and has bluetooth. I hate it cause its bright and had too much going on and the **** is too easy to turn. I am glad its in her car lol

Here it is unpainted so you can better see what it is. Basically 14g metal that I bent and cut to fit on to the right side of the console next to the brake handle. I later painted it black satin.

This is the back side. It's held firmly in place by Velcro and is removable. The cup holders (which are actually ash trays) are screwed in to a piece of 0.25" x 1.5" oak.
Bravo, sir! Head over to the Homebrew mods thread and post it in there too. Lots of guys with early XJs would be happy to see that modification.Originally Posted by PCO6

It also will auto-switch to radio if it doesn't detect bluetooth audio for some time (I think I can disable that), but it scared the ever-loving **** out of me while I was trying to merge around a few semi-trucks and fast moving traffic on the highway. I had the volume set pretty high, and hadn't tuned it into a radio station so all of a sudden static noise came in cranked all the way to 11. Almost had a heart attack, lol

Same here lol.... yeah that's about the only thing the Sony music app is good for is setting the EQ. Makes it really easy if you have a phone with a stylus 'cause you can pretty much just draw a parabola across the EQ and it will pretty much be at the right setting.... but I got so annoyed with that app, I deleted it and only reinstall it if I need to set the EQ again.Originally Posted by investinwaffles
Setting the equalizer was a true pain in the rear until I downloaded the Kenwood "remote app", which sounds like it as crappy as the Sony one, lol. The Pioneer had a great graphic eq that, like you said, was easy to tweak on the fly. Also had a dedicated subwoofer level button which was nice so I didn't need to mount a separate gain ****It also will auto-switch to radio if it doesn't detect bluetooth audio for some time (I think I can disable that), but it scared the ever-loving **** out of me while I was trying to merge around a few semi-trucks and fast moving traffic on the highway. Was a beautiful day for it too. Then took it to get a new belt for the air compressor, came home and changed the compressor oil, filter and belt, and it's running boobies again.
Been doing a lot of tube bending and notching at work...so after having the doors off today, I'm thinking time for tube doors. I have it all but a good notcher, which I can use at work, so why not, right?
One of my favorite mods to date lol.... even my wife loves riding around with the doors off.Originally Posted by roninofako

Sales prices and rebates are usually the driving factor for me as well.
I currently have a stockpile of Safety-Kleen Performance Plus 10w-30 HDEO that I'm using because it was free. Not because it has an extra dose of ZDDP.

Not trying to start one of those debates. Gotta be frank. I read through cause I was trying to learn. 90% of that stuff went right over my head. I get the zinc for the flat tappet or whatever it is we have in are Jeeps. Also kinda understand that the zinc messes with the cats so what's a boy to do? Napa 5W-30 in the October and Napa 10W-30 in April. Since I don't have a life there is about 2500 miles between oil changes.Originally Posted by CurrySoSpicy

Yea, I’m not enough of an **** gear head to get that involved in it. Just don’t care. I only put about 1000 miles on mine a year. It’s just a toy for me.Originally Posted by Ralph77

I haven't told you my plan? I am turning 60 this April. I am going to keep doing stuff, and maintenance, to the Jeep because I enjoy it and for the most part can afford it. Figure I might have another 10 years, tops, in me of being able to drive. At that time I will sell her and I am going to soak some young kid for every penny I can. LOL.Originally Posted by CurrySoSpicy
