[QUOTE=XJ4life92;767303] best way to get the parts you need from a place is to be friends with one of the people there. hah.[QUOTE]

or you work at a place that sells everything and sells parts like canadian tire haha, i've learned to use the parts system by my self so i can look up anything i want.... surprizingly we sell parts for rancho lift kits and stuff separatly so im in the process of pickin out parts

Parts store:

Me: I need such and such part for my 98 Jeep XJ Cherokee
Part guy: V8 or V6
Me: They didnt make it with either
Part guy: Yes they did, look *Turns monitor to me*
*Monitor says 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee at the top*
Me: Is there a starbucks triple grande frapadapalapachino in my hand?
Part guy: What?
Me: Why did you assume its the Grande Latte Cherokee when I clearly said CHEROKEE and even clarified by saying XJ.
Part guy: Oh sorry, *starts typing* So V6 then
Me: *Facepalms and walks to the next terminal* Hi, I need such and such part for my 98 Jeep XJ Cherokee.

I hate it when I'm always told to buy something else by people who's cars have broken down while mine has never left me stranded.

My old man: He has a 2007 Ford Focus with less than 100K miles. The tranny went out twice.

"Why do refuse to get rid of the junker?" "I dunno dad, maybe because its the safest vehicle I've seen anyone in the family own."

My mother: 2002 Ford Focus with 130K. Her entire clutch system went out: disk, pressure plate, slave, all.

"You should really consider a new vehicle." She told me this as I climbed out from under her POS trying to fix something new that was wrong with it.

My friend: 1996 Ford Explorer with 180K. He just had to have over $1000 worth of head work done.

"My Ford is better. The engine is better because it's a V-6 4.0 instead of your I-6. It's also more solid." He told me this 3 days prior to needing the work done. I also proved to him that my 4.0 is structurally and performance-wise more superior than his. I also pointed out that there are app. 10 XJ's per Explorer on the road in my town.

Another friend: He has no vehicle.

"That's not a real Jeep. Why do you bother working on it?" This resulted in a slap to the back of his head.

Yeah, like any V-6 was more solid than any I-6! There's a reason that the AMC I-6 was kept in jeeps well into their Chrysler years!

And yet another example of someone with too much money building an off-roader and not having a flippin' clue how to actually drive it off-road.
