Granted nothing was really said, but we got a good 10" or so storm about 3 years ago, and my work closed for the day early, so I helped get some cars out of parking lot then drove around a small development that had not been touched, only one track, and people out snowblowing and shoveling all stopped to stare at me, just driving along, even stopped for my full 3 seconds at the stop signs, just so I could prove the stock XJ (I was 17 and broke but had huge plans for it) had no troubles
I wish we could get another huge storm like that, now that I have a not so stock XJ!
Oh how much fun Jeeps are in the snow!
Also gotta love "Are those things safe? Don't they always flip?" You just need to respond with a "Yupp, so be prepared to help roll it back over"
haha. i love driving around in deep *** snow. it makes up for those hot summer days when im pulled over on the side of 95 because i almost was close to overheating. Originally Posted by bmrrwolfe

Your lucky you got a lot of snow, I live in Middle Eastern PA and we got nuttin. Maybe 2 inches, but a couple weeks ago we got about 5in and everyone laughed and said I was nuts because I took my jeep out on the roads...with bald tires. They laughed until they found out my bald tired jeep is better in the snow than my grandmother's Toyota Camry with snow tires on!
haha nice.Originally Posted by Griff94

"Hummer makes the best off road vehicles."
"When are you gonna wash that?"
And my favorite:
::walk into auto parts store, and tell them, "I need such and such a part for a '99 Jeep Cherokee, 4 wheel drive, 4.0 inline 6." Their response, "Grand Cherokee or regular?" Did I SAY grand at any point?::
I forever have this problem at any parts store. even when you tell them straight 6 01' HO cherokee they will always respond, "GRand Cherokee?" with a puzzled look in their face. Originally Posted by no rdplz

me: "turn what down?"
friend: "Whatever's being loud"
me: "I can't turn the sound of my tires down.."

I hate "that thing is old I can't believe you trust it." or "drive the crv it's safer in the snow and does really good in it." I don't think she knows I have a jeep that's 4x4 and I never have had doubt in it once.

My mom says that about her subaru. Even though it got stuck in a parking lot when we went to Laramie and there was a foot and a half of snow, and on another occasion she spun out on a road and (somehow) broke a CV axle shaft...Originally Posted by Jeep95

Haha I have a Subaru too. They do good in the snow. For a car would trust it more than a crv. But in no way more than my jeep.Originally Posted by mrfajita

"You really should get a normal vehicle."
- My mother who kept bugging me for years to get a newer vehicle. Just to make her happy I bought a new Cobalt. I've had it for two years and it has 5800 miles on the odometer. Meanwhile, the XJ is driven at least 10,000 miles per year.
"Do you wanna sell that thing?"
- A question that I've gotten a few times after off-roading in a group and end up being the only one who never got stuck.
My reply every time:
"Heck no!"

Newbie
had a cop pulled me over yesterday and ask if i drive my jeep (on 35's and a 6" lift and no doors) offroad? so i asked him if he drives his car offroad? not to smart
Newbie
Neighbor asked me yesterday when I was outside dinkin around on it, "looks like that thing should be used off road, will it do better then a blazer?" I shook my head at first and said " well blazers are a lot bigger and heavier so they can cover more ground with their wheelbase, so it makes it tough for me to pull em when they get stuck trying to follow me. He didn't get what I said about the wheelbase covering more ground so ill leave him thinking whatever he wants too.

Quote from my parents last night "we're not gonna let you drive that jeep in the snow it'll get stuck" then alas...as I woke up to 8 inches of snow...my jeep is the only vehicle that made it out of the driveway.
