right hitch?
Hi folks I got my hitch yesterday now im wondering if I got the correct one, seems only the front and rear holes line up.
Can I get away with only the bolts on the 4 corners?
ps,( this beast came with a small 1'' reciever but i dont think it was original)

thanks

If it's one of those universal hitches, likely not. Is it possible to drill an extra hole in the hitch?
Also, you'll need to have nut strips for a successful and strong installation. Do you have those? JcrOffroad makes them.

Sounds like you got a ZJ or WJ hitch.. If you drill the required holes it should be able to be fitted. Set of nut strips would make things easier and more secure, but you can do without. You want a MINIMUM of 6 bolts all 8 would be best. FWI the OEM hitch mounts with 5 bolts each side.
Thanks you guys. Yes I have the nut strips that came with the install kit but I think there are only 4 of them, not really sure.
On the video it show that the passenger side holes are threaded.....
Nothing's ever simple.lol

Some people prefer to get the nutstrips to use instead of the plates. I am cheap so I just use the universal plates.

I'll be darned. I was looking at the wrong for holes. Won't even have to drill! Did have to grind off a small corner of the hitch that was hitting the lip of the bumper. Amazing!
Hi folks , finally got my hitch mounted and 7 out of 8 bolts torqued down... except for the rear one on the drivers side. This one is 'supposed to not be a carriage bolt like the others on the passenger side and there is no room to get the bigger spacers up there. the directions call for a regular bold and the smaller spacer.
How can I torque this bold down when it's impossible to get a wrench up there?
I tightened it up as tight as my impact wrench goes but it aint the 110 ft/lbs called for.
thanks as awlays

I just got the same hitch from Etrailer and I couldn't be happier. The Curt hitch is very well made and also made in the USA! It took me longer to remove the old factory nut plate on one side that was too rusted to use but once it was out the hitch bolted right up. I removed my rear bumper to make the install easier.
