Need a solid locking fuel door!
The last couple months I have had a gas thief and I am worried it will escalate to tampering with my jeep. Does anyone have any ideas for a billet style fuel door that would be an easy fit or mod ideas.. I still want it to look good as well as functional..

Best thing for gas thieves is a 12 gauge.
Here in Texas you can blow someone away for even looking like they're tampering with your vehicle and you're off scott free.

...it doesn't mention it in this story, but the guy lit a cigarette in the van while pumping the gas into a 55 gallon drum....a true candidate for this years Darwin award...

Yeah a locking gas cap is cheap and easier to do.Years ago i watched a guy trying to siphon gas out of my mustang. The joke was on him the stock filler cap between the tail lights was just there to cover the hole.I have a fuel cell the real gas cap is in the trunk floor. Was funny watching him sucking and sucking on the hose and nothing coming out of it.

Funny posts. The "CRAP" caps they sell at the stores arent worth the effort. All one typically has to do is stick a common "Flat" screw driver in them and they open as though it was a key. Sometimes if you just press right on the cap it opens just as easily. Ive had to help a few people at gas stations and at the Mech shop I used to work at to get them off. I wish I were in Tx and I would be using the 12g to stop the BS.. I cant even set it up to cause harm when they do try to steal gas. Was using a wild game camera to try to catch them but seems as if they know when I put it out so no doubt they are neighbors. Police only come through our little rural town about once a day and even then arent doing a damn thing. Thought about hosting a free doughnut and coffee fest weekly to try to get some help. I have a blind son and they wont even put in speed bumps and a sign to stop cars doing 60mph + in a 35. Gonna buy cameras but gotta do something in the interm. Pretty sad when Rural Kansas with -100 people, in the middle of nowhere is getting this Fubared.. Im loosing at least 10-15 gal a week.

Damn. 15 Gallons a week at near $4 a gallon adds up to over 3K in a year. I would be setting up an ambush of some sort for sure. Hide out nearby and when they try to siphon, jump out and baseball bat to the knees to keep 'em from running away, LOL...

That would be the logical choice, OP you could also look into fabing a fuel door lock with a cam lock , cut a small slot inside the pocket and drill a hole in the door install the lock and your done !
