My Second Cherokee project!
Check it out guys, I finally got me another cherokee only this time 4 door, auto, and truly almost built, even though we all know nothing is ever truly done. 4" Long arm lift, bomb proof motor mounts, rock sliders, front and rear bumpers, and much more including an engine woth less than 50k. What I am wondering is the guy who owned it before said he had posi locks in the front and rear axles which he said was a limited slip that was as close to a locker you can get without being one and sacrificing your on the road handling. It definitly drives like its got something in the axles but is anyone familiar with posi locks? And there official name? What could he have been talking about? Thanks guys! Oh and btw, whats to come is over the knuckle steering, 33x12.50s (its got 32x11.50s), and I am almost done cutting all of the diamond plate sheet metal that is going to go in place of what used to be a long time ago the wood paneling. So instead of a wood panel cherokee its gonna be a diamond plate panel cherokee! Haha. Let me know what u think of the jeep. Im gonna be posting pictures now.

Posi-traction is another term for a Limited Slip Differential (LSD). IIRC posi was a GM term back in the day but doesn't refer to any specific brand of LSD for your XJ.
Diamond plate sounds awesome. Good luck.

Yah thats what i found out when i looked it up. The dude I got it from is sending me receipts and info on everything so that will be nice to know... Man this thing suprised me because its only a 4" lift and it flexes out better than my old 8 1/2" lift... Probably cause it has the stock arms and this ones got long arms and stuff. the two pictures from the first post are the most recent. I removed, sanded, and painted the flares, bumpers and rock rails... The flares were put on super crooked too so had to fix it. The goals are to lift it 2 more inches, rear locker, over the knuckle steering, roof rack and a spare tire mount for my full size spare thats taking up way to much space in the back, and last but not least, remove the cold air intake for a snorkal or make one myself oh and 33x12.50s. I still want it to be completly streetable and freeway capable... Hauls butt right now so i figure it will still do it with 1" wider and 1" taller tires... If u guys have any input or ideas let me know! Can always use advice... And man... Look at how cool that stance looks with those bumpers

I want lights for my front bumper but im debating on a high weight most expensive winch from harbor freight or to put on some hella lights... Haha i know i know harbor freight sucks but hey im a broke college kid. Haha nice lookin jeep u got there.

Looks like a good start. I'd lose the fender flares if the cops wouldn't bother you but that's just me. I'd also leave it how it is or find wood grain instead of the diamond plate. Might look ok if the diamond plate is painted black, but I've always wanted to build a badass cherokee with wood grain.

The flares gotta stay on because underneath they trimmed the fenders WAY TOO MUCH haha plus I have always liked the look of bushwackers and it keeps the mud from sprayin all over the side of the jeep... Yah man the diamond plate is gonna be the same gloss black as everything else. Also working on a head liner that i found at pep boys its liked rolled up foam diamond plate that has adhesive on one side.
