Default DC Power Systems Alternators

So last month when I started this whole thing with my XJ, I just needed to do a new alternator, new radiator, and install a new timing chain. Little did I know at the time my engine was shot, and I was going to have to replace it.

So at the time I thought I would pony up to the bar, and since I was installing a winch bumper & winch, why not buy a 180A alternator. I had heard of DC Power Systems, and their reputation in the Jeep racing community.
So I ended up purchasing one of their 180A alts. Yeah kinda pricey....................... but I am sooosooo tired of buying McPart store rejects that only last a month on a good day (OH! and my time is worth more than a ""lifetime warranty that only works for a month"").
So I got this alternator shipped to me in record time, and it sat on the shelf til last week.
The new 3.0L 4 Cyl. is almost ready to go in the Jeep right now, but I am kinda old school. I like to mock everything new up before it goes in.
Well I get the new cool 180A alt ready to install, and shoot!
The output lug is hitting the engine mount. Normally I would just do some grinding, but on this cast iron mount I thought to my self "BAD IDEA".

I called Anthony down at DC Power, and he was like let me get you a shipping label and we can make a plate that turns the lug down. OK?
But I had to go down to Norco today for a DR's appt. so I just ran down to Riverside since it was only 10 mins away.

These dudes are so cool!
While were talking he asked if I wanted a tour of the shop?
Hell ya!

Dude!

They have quite a few CNC mills there making their housings from billet rounds, and also making their own armatures. They do work for the government, baja racers, off roaders, NASCAR, IMSA, and those crazy stereo dudes.
Seriously top notch stuff.
I was beyond impressed with the knowledge, and customization capabilities there.

Anyway. I am now gonna have them build me a ferd 3G for my FSJ Waggy.
The price is NOTHING compared to their customer service, and I am looking forward to be a customer for a long time.

Just my take for a lowly 4 banger owner.

Kudos on the company. I have a 250 amp, not this company, but I do love the extra capacity
